The Eat Fresh, Eat Local, Eat Healthy Program
Take a Taste with Spoons provides students the opportunity to learn about the elements of taste, sample locally grown apple varieties, and take an apple home to share with their families. It is an enrichment wellness program that supports the variety of developmental stages of students in each grade.
Take a Taste with Spoons is adaptable to the variety of fruits and vegetables that are grown locally and seasonally. The overall goals of the Spoons Healthy Eating Program are to celebrate fresh, local, and seasonal food; to encourage direct and long lasting connections with local farmers; to expand ones tastes; and to eat healthy, tasty foods.

Spoons Salad Says gives 3rd, 4th and 5th graders the opportunity to explore the elements of taste, learn how to make a vinaigrette and a seasonal salad, eat their salad together as a class, and take a recipe home to cook with their family. This enrichment wellness program is geared to the various developmental stages of students in each grade.
Spoons Salad Days debuted in October 2009.

Healthy Snacks provides students the opportunity to learn about the elements of taste, sample a variety of healthy snacks, and take a list of healthy snack ideas home to share with their families. It is an enrichment wellness program that supports the variety of developmental stages of students in each grade.
