Our programs

Spoons Across America^® develops and supports food- and nutrition-based educational programs for children.

Our programs include:

• GreenMarket Guides trains volunteers to guide children and interested adults through farmers' markets using hands-on education techniques, including a specially-designed market Treasure Hunt. Read more…
  
• New York Ag Literacy Day educates children on the importance of fostering awareness, ;understanding, and appreciation of agriculture and the food and fiber system by reading a high quality story book to second grade classrooms and to provide a hand-on agricultural activity to these classrooms. • The Dinner Party Project^® educates children through the process of producing a dinner party for their parents in the school cafeteria or local community center. Read more…
  
• Spoons Food Miles Relay^®is a 2-session program that teaches students about freshness, energy use, and about environmental and other benefits of buying and eating locally grown foods. Read more…
  
• Take a Taste with Spoonsis an Eat Fresh, Eat Local, Eat Healthy Program that encourages direct and long lasting connections with local food, expands students' tastes, and promotes wellness. Read more…
  
• AIWF Days of Taste^® is a discovery-based program for fourth or fifth-grade students to learn about food and how it weaves its way through daily life from farm to table. Read more…
