20th Anniversary Gala

Wednesday, April 27, 2022

Spoons Across America celebrated 20 years of empowering children across America to make healthy food choices independently.

On Wednesday, April 27th, 2022 Spoons Across America hosted its 20th Anniversary Gala. This event included a celebratory evening honoring Chef Daniel Boulud as a Food Hero for his extraordinary culinary expertise and his philanthropic work during the challenges of the last two years.

The gala was a huge success due to our staff’s hard work and the tireless efforts of our board and committee. The gala included a lively 90-minute VIP Cocktail Reception in the Metropolitan Club’s Great Hall with Master of Ceremonies Andrew Zimmern, an elegant three-course seated dinner, special guest speakers, and an exciting live auction with one-of-a-kind celebrity experiences by Antique Roadshow’s Sebastian Clarke.

20 years of Spoons would not be possible without our founders Rudy and Julia Jordan. From day one they laid down a foundation made of everlasting love for the children that we help every single day. We thank you for giving us a lifetime of good deeds, happy memories, and even healthier recipes to spread across America.

Our Keynote Speaker, Jacques Torres, explained the important truth behind premium ingredients, local neighborhood shops, food, and family. Jacques prides himself on specializing in fresh, handcrafted chocolates using premium ingredients. He cares about the service to his customers just as much as he cares about his product, and that is one of the many elements we share in classrooms today. He taught us not to care only of the food we eat, but also to care about where it came from. Care about the connections made between the farm and the table.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and generously gave their support to help us celebrate 20 years of food-related childhood education.
